Theatre for all ages in Brooklyn, produced with the whole family in mind
"Incredibly fun production" BlogCritic Magazine
Tuckaberry Productions is a company whose objective is to present high-quality, intelligent, entertaining musical and non-musical theatre to children and their families. We believe that “children’s theatre” should meet the same expectations as adult theatre; the script should be engaging, the music should be exciting, and the story should be timeless. Our plays offer something for everyone in the family, from the tiniest toddler to parents and grandparents. We hope to entertain and inspire anyone who delights in live music, compelling characters, comic pratfalls, or even Sondheim references.
Our long-term goal is to make Tuckaberry Productions a resident and Brooklyn-based traveling children’s theatre company offering scripts of all varieties to audiences of all ages. Our current vault of scripts includes a Christmas musical, original fairy tales, and a mystery farce. We hope to add comeddia dell arte, opperettas, and classical literature written and abridged for younger audiences.
Our 2008-2009 season:
Home for the Holidays With Granny Tuckaberry (December 12-20, 2008) An original holiday musical revue written and performed by the Tuckaberries.
Round the Circle (April 13-May 2, 2009) An original musical based on Native American legend and lore written and directed by co-founders Adam Baritot and Dianna Tucker--available for touring at local schools and venues in April and May.
Tuckaberry Productions is a non-profit organization, a New York State Charity, and is a member of A.R.T.
